A raw nature experience combining trail running & exploring the famous ring road of Iceland in a camper van.VIEW DATES
Love Trails Road Trip Iceland is a journey like you've never experienced before. It's a 7-day trail running & adventure road trip around Iceland, exploring the majestic nature and beauty of this volcanic island. We drive, run and explore by day and gather around the campfire to share stories at night. This event is designed to be corona safe, 100% outdoor and plenty of space. Got questions? Email us on email@example.com
Most days, you have the option to join a guided trail running adventure in some of Iceland's most famous spots. We explore at a relaxed social pace, with plenty of stops. The runs vary in length from 5km to around 17km.
Experience the freedom of living the #vanlife. You have your home, your bed and kitchen with you anywhere you go :)
One more majestic than the other. You'll see waterfalls of all types, heights and all angles. Most of them are just by the road for easy access.
Iceland has the biggest glacier in Europe. Along the road you'll see ice bergs floating by on lagoons and the big glacier tongues coming down from the mountains.
At night, we gather up around the camp fire and share stories about the day. At each camp stop, we will set up BBQs for you to cook your own food.
Iceland is gifted with water and geothermal heat. Together they make hot springs. Some are next to the road, others are well hidden and less known. We will take you to all the best ones!
Not many people know the Icelandic nature and photo spots better than Ása. She is born and raised in Iceland and has probably spent more time on mountains or next to waterfalls than home in Reykjavik. Follow her lead and you will never have a dull day.
Leo is the adventure master and experience creator. He has spent the last 10 years creating all from big sailing festivals to desert expeditions and boutique ski events deep in the Arctic. His close friends has learned that whenever Leo host an event, they show up and enjoy the ride.
Serial adventure & experience entrepreneur, Theo is the founder of Love Trails and Átjan Wild Islands festival. Prior to trail running festivals, he founded Little Big Adventures, leading wilderness expeditions in fjord Norway. He is currently training to be an International Mountain Leader (IML).
Pick up your campervan and hit the road. Our first camp site is about 2h drive away but there's plenty to explore on the way. We recommend going for a hot spring hike and visit some waterfalls on the way. It's also a good idea to stock up on some food and drinks for the van.
We explore the south coast and all its waterfalls. You have a smörgåsbord of amazing nature just by the road. There will be a guided trail run to join if you want to, otherwise you are free to explore on your own. End the day in Vik on the famous black beach or perhaps go for a tandem paraglide flight in the sunset?
We continue east into Vatnajökull natural park and the glacier territory. You can join us for an optional stop at glacier lagoons, trail running between icebergs on Diamond Beach. Or you could take a guided glacier hike*. It's an incredible experience walking on the ice, seeing the ice falls and climbing through cracks (*available at extra cost)
Wake up in a remote camp site after a night around the bonfire. We continue east towards Höfn, the lobster capital of Iceland. On the way you can join us for a trail run to Svartifoss, or you could just chill in the hot springs in Hoffel, or both! We will also visit Stokknes, a beautiful black beach before lobster dinner in Höfn* (*dinner optional and available at extra cost)
Welcome to the beautiful East Fjords of Iceland, surrounded by high mountains and water all around. We camp in Seydisfjördur, the most picturesque fjord of Iceland. This is also home to an amazing sushi restaurant serving fresh fish from the local fishermen, a great spot for dinner which we highly recommend.
The day starts with a drive through the biggest volcanic desert in Europe. Endless black lava fields before you reach the ocean and Husavik on the other side. On the way there's of course a hot spring to bathe in as well as a geothermal area. We finish the day with an epic trail run or a sunset whale watching tour* and dinner (*available at extra cost).
We are making our way back towards Reykjavik. On the way is Skagafjördur, famous for being the best place in Iceland to go horseback riding. We highly recommend to try this and it is suitable for all levels. If you want even more adrenaline this is also where the best river rafting in Iceland is (*both available at extra cost). Or you could join us for a beautiful final trail run around Skagafjördur.
